The Exchange Breaks Ground in Old Town
An entire block of North College Avenue in downtown Fort Collins is about to be transformed.
Local business representatives and officials formally broke ground Wednesday on The Exchange, which will take up the east side of the 200 block of North College.
The $9 million project by the Brinkman development company and real estate partner Richmark is intended to convert a rough-looking, triangular parcel dominated by a parking lot into a trendy gathering spot.
“These complicated projects are always years in the making, so we are very excited to be here,” said Kevin Brinkman, co-founder and CEO of Brinkman.
The Exchange will have a variety of restaurants, breweries, office and retail spaces, an open-air private plaza, and a 22-foot-tall ice cream stand shaped like an old-fashioned milk bucket.
